The separately sold heads are available with different bypass levels and different water line connections. Hard water areas require more water to go through the filter and selecting the appropriate head will allow you to set this. Fixed 0% bypasses run everything through the filter, and Fixed 30% bypasses run 70% of water through the filter. We also have a variable 0-70% head that can be set to your exact requirements.
